Activism

Working in activism is part of the fiber of Bonfire. The willingness to be transparent about what we think is worth fighting for is part of who we are.

The concept of openness around talking about what matters is at the epicenter of an evolving economy; consumers vote with their dollars based on shared values.

There are many reasons why people choose one brand over another, and we want to be chosen for the quality of our work and the company we keep. We are proud to be changemakers, and we recognize civic duty and activism as a noble part of being human.

We are committed to using our voices for those who can't as we respect and protect the natural world. Below are links to three organizations that are making positive change for the greater good.

Missoula for Bears

Missoula for bears was formed by three local grizzly bear advocates, and is currently being managed by Bonfire’s founder. The goal is to help Missoula take immediate action to be better prepared to coexist with bears in the valley. Currently, bears are being drawn into conflict with unmanaged attractants like garbage, fruit trees, and bird feeders.

Financial support from across the country has come in to fund projects in partnership with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks bear manager Jamie Jonkel.

Additional key partnerships in the county are helping us secure lots of attractants. Hot spots are being addressed where citizens are willing to step forward, ready to keep bears wild.

We have helped complete several projects to date, and one is featured in Save the Yellowstone Grizzly’s latest film, Return of the Grizzly. You can see this film in Missoula on Thursday, February 1 at the Wilma Theater. Doors at 6:00, and the event is free and open to all. Family friendly.

You can donate to keep this lucky streak going here.

Peak Plastic Foundation

Single use plastic is killing our planet and having tremendously adverse repercussions on every species that inhabits the earth. We question our society’s act of aggression against the environment by normalizing the use of items that are tossed in a landfill after one or two uses. We support circular design.

Peak Plastic Foundation works to accelerate a future where plastic production and pollution decline through the development of integrated campaigns and storytelling that empowers global collaborative action.
